Why Silicon Engineering Careers?

India is driving industry growth with a hefty investment of 76,000 Crores in the Semicon India Program and an additional US$360 Mn in IT Hardware. This surge presents a unique opportunity for women to leave an enduring impact, similar to their contributions in the computing industry. Despite this potential, the gender gap persists, with only 13% of hardware roles held by women in the USA, and abysmally low in India.

In this rapidly expanding industry, the underrepresentation of women in hardware, a crucial component of the semiconductor sector, is a notable challenge. Recognizing this gap, the Women in Silicon Hardware (WISH) program has been established to address and rectify gender imbalances. The program aims to empower aspiring women to build promising careers in the dynamic and ever-evolving tech landscape.
